More TUI Art in Cambridge: Courtesy of MIT Media Lab

WBUR recently featured an amazing exhibit happening in Cambridge.

~Le Laboratoire Cambridge~
~Vocal Vibrations~

Go to the Le Exhibit Gallery for this exhibit (it is free, although the suggested donation is $10). Experience the sound of your voice in your hand.
I find it very interesting that there is no mention of science or human-computer interaction in this project. Perhaps the computer presence is meant to be ubiquitous.
No matter! This is a very interesting example of full-body and multi-sensory interaction.

Think of the sensors, actuators, and transducers!
The microphones taking in audio input (sensors), the computer somewhere controlling the interaction, the speakers playing music and the motors receiving signals to move the orb (actuators), and the whole sensory experience focuses on the transduction of a auditory quantity to a motor one.

As a vocalist, I love the idea of being able to give my voice weight and tangibility. It will be an interesting experience. I hope I am able to go soon!
